Just back from the glasgow gig. What an absolute joke. Nothing to do with the Cribs they tried their hardest, King tuts should hang their heads in shame though. The re-arranged venue was shi#e and there were far too many dick heads in the crowd! x

tuts had their hands tied to be fair, it was a "health and safety issue". No other band would of re-scheduled another venue at such short notice either, its just a shame about the whole crushing thing, although that bird woulda fainted regardless probably.

What happened with the rearranged thing then?

I asked the guy with the microphone who got everyone to leave if that was it cancelled and he said it was and we would be able to get a refund so I just went home disappointed.

I'd better still be able to get a refund!

haha Last night was fucking mental.

Ladys bogs flooded, then we all got told to go through the fire exit and stand outside. Some people fucked off thinking it had been cancelled. Then dude from Pavillion and some other dude said it was going to be moved somewhere else. Although at first we were told The Garage or ABC, so some people went there, but after a while Ryan came out and we asked him and it was being moved to a wee pub, The Admiral.

Then there was all the chaos in there, there wasn't really a stage and i knew as soon as they started playing everyone would get pushed onto it. So they played MTV and there was alot of pushing, then Hey Scenesters came on and everyone at the front fell onto the stage. Me being one of them, i managed to get myself back up and was told to just stand at the back on the stage, because there was literally no way to get off it.

There was shitloads of people infront of the drumkit on the floor in a big pile, then when everyone got up, one of my friends was at the bottom, and was out of it, partly due to everyone being on top of her party due to drink. They carried her off and then when i came back everyone was sitting on the floor watching them.

They played bloody brilliantly though and it's not everyday you get to see The Cribs play in a pub function room! :D

I didn't "fuck off thinking it had been cancelled" - the King Tuts staff told me it had been and said I would be able to get a refund which was, at the time, pretty compelling evidence not to stand and get soaked in the rain.

Oh well, looks like I'll have to go into Tuts and kick up a stink to get my money back.

i would think they would be cool about refunds - especially if they told you it had been cancelled. i very much doubt you will have to kick up a stink to get one.

Yeah, you're probaby right, I had a bit of trouble with tickets there a while ago and they were really good about it. I'll have to swing past later on and see what they say - still, a refund won't change the fact I missed the gig - gutted!

I just wrote this whole thing in nice grammar and spent about 10 mins and then the cat stood on the keyboard and deleted it. Fuck.

Basically, they said it was cancelled and then that they would try to find a new venue. We went to Firewater as it was nearby and the chat went round about it being moved to the Admiral. We went to the Admiral and queued for years before they let us in. I knew as soon as I walked in that it wasn't going to work because the stage was really just a raised area. Nick Macarthy (spl) and the blonde one from Franz were sitting at the back when we first walked in. Cause I don't like dying I managed to get a seat on a raised ledge so I could see over everyone's heads. They played for about 2 seconds and then the girl fell. Gary seemed really upset by it. Whoever's idea it was to sit down was great. They only played for about 30 mins, but it was fantastic. My sister was standing in front on me beside Alex Kapranos for the whole gig, but didn't notice until then end the dafty.

Missed the last bus back to Edinburgh and had to pay £70 between us for a taxi home, but was definitely worth it.

Do you think they're likely to reschedule? Even though they played a different venue, lots of people wouldn't have known about it and it wasn't a full set so I would like to think we'll get another gig.
